Piggy and the Magic Ice cream

Greetings fellow readers~!
This is my first post this year. Wow~ it's almost midyear and I'm saying this is the first post; talk about massive hiatus haha.

Today's post is about my previous term's assignment. We had user interface, Creativity and Problem Solving, and  Design and Culture modules last term. I like Design and Culture the most cuz' I got to see many artists (which most of them I can relate to honestly). So far my favs are Takashi Murakami, Henri Matisse, Renee Margitte, and Salvador Dali. My second preferred module is Creativity and Problem Solving which where we basically are demanded to expand our creativity. Although I have to admit that I felt like half of the class is about brainstorming.... I don't like brainstorming. But oh well we'll need that in the future so just bear with it.

Interesting stuff! Final project for Creativity and Problem Solving module is to create an original story and animate it with .GIF. GIF is a format for picture files which can only consist of few colours but-- the best thing is that it MOVES. Who doesn't like moving picture, seriously. EVERYBODY LOVES IT. By making our original story into GIF we can achieve more dynamic result which is indeed very interesting. Despite the limited features in GIF formatted pictures, there are many assets you can trigger to make your work look astounding.Working with GIF is enjoyable because it's simple and easy. Everybody can make it!

In this task, we have to make our own character and story. It started with a sketch and profile and then we have to make the storyboard of each scenes. We had to make 12 scenes. Later we will exchange story with our classmate and create extra 5 scenes combined with our partner's character!

My project's story is about a Pig who is invisible and casted away by the society. She's very shy because she doesn't come in contact with anyone her entire life. One day he met a man who gave her a magic Ice cream! And later she meets my partner's Character and see what happened!
Follow my Pig for the twist and turn of events in her life!

Drawing class | twice the fun double the trouble!

In raffles, we also have drawjng class where we mainly study manual arts which is greatly aquired as the underlying skill enhancing our performance in future job. Here we learn anatomy, proportion, shadowing, aaaaaand EXPRESSIONS!
SO  for our final project of the term.... we have to draw 24 sketches... Of our classmate's facial expression!
First... In class we had to live draw! YES that means.... We sketch our friend.... With expresion. ..... Live on set!

My first partner was Ista, a girl who laughes ALOT. Imagine how hard we had to collect ourselves! And my second partner was Cindy. Well she laughed less but i found trouble because she couldn't open her eyes in a long time lapse due to her eyes' sensitivity to air.

For the rest of the sketches we had to take pictures of each other! I had a little problem in this session. I can't do it.... When people look at me. ... It's embarrassing! Noel in the other hand, has lost his senses in another way so he posed like............ Err nevermind. Cindy was an okay model. It was easy to instruct her. Ista has the same problem with me. Aaaand she cannot cease her brows! Wtf i know!

24 sketches sure is alot..... But oh well. We'll just see what the result will be next week! See you then!

Typography On Clothings

HEYA FOLKS~!
Okay....
I'm not gonna run away and say "I'm too busy to update my blog aka doing homework."
I'm not gonna say, "I'm too lazy to do homework..."
either , "I'm too bored to live in this chaos..."
....... But alot have been happening this week which has torn my sanity into pieces.....
Well people say I'm mad already....
never mind my rants.....

Soooooooooo~~ this week's update is about our beloved typography weekly task (IT"S LAST WEEK CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!)
I missed last week's task, about foreign letters, cuz I got a little circumstance in collecting letters which doesn't resemble AT ALL the abecedary.
Those french letters are too main stream seriously.
But this week is easier. It's about Typography on Clothings:))

Hm. I don't know since when people start to put modified types on Clothings instead of picture, but one I know, that those kinda shirst are sometimes amazingly attractive.
They put funny words and unique design. Very Urban and simple.
But apparently, these kinda shirts doesn't meet my prefernce, for I think... Typography is more attractive when they're on screen or posters.
I'd prefer a T-shirt with a miku  picture on it! (but the one I saw on a shop last time costs 430.000IDR ! so pricey that it broken my heart into pieces...)

anyway, It happens that i have 11 Tshirts in my closet.... which are typography clothings..... and it happens that..... those 11 Tshirts are the majority of my closet's contents....
okay May be I kinda like these thing. (especially when they have those 50% discount sign on store)
sooo
these are the Tshirts!

.... remind's me with Maria's typography play on "OLD" word

Cindy probably has this on her blog too. This was our school's Tshirt. yap.... I dunno why I hate it so much... the design...

HA! the famous Joger shirt. It says, "Intelegence is  far more Important."

"We don't have to rebel to everything, either we don't have to support everything."

Everybody always comment on this shirt and the yellow one! This is actually a boy's shirt

This Tshirt can glow under sunlight, but not lamp light. If I go out with this Tshirt, stars ornaments will glow blue :)) dunno how they managed to do that!

I think that's all!
If I were to pick my favourite.... hm... I'd choose the Joger shirts! They're very comfy but I cannot wear them outside since it's so... dull already in colour.
For the design I think overall they're the same.... I never get the path of typography to tell you the truth...
I don't think from words .... its shape matter... since its meaning is enough to convey its identity
for me typography is like a cherry on top of Zhanggrandi banana split.
I don't eat cherry, but I like its shape
So it's like, I don't like typography, but I like the shape.
so I don't really undertand how the shape will convey the meaning. Well I get it.....
I know how to do it....
I can do it....
But i don't get it so I don't want to do it....
It's preplexed when it comes to me dealing with my preference.... ==
oh well, I'll HAVE TO DO IT and LIKE IT anyway.
I'll bear with that.

I guess that's all for this term...
bye bye First term weekly taks...
Now I'm gonna do the Coraline task.
I should have picked alice.... I know it... ..... I should have picked alice....

Grafitti

Hai folks!!! It's been a rather busy week that I even forgot to update..... Until the lady of fortune saved me from the land of oblivion. Obviously I wasn't intending to post late, but since I'm quiet absorbed by the Illustrator homework........ I forgot..... well not NOW! HA!

This week's theme is~~
"GRAFFITI"
yes yes, graffiti! I found the process quiet interesting.... since I had to test my sense of surroundings (aka I had to go on roads... IN THE MIDDLE of the road to take pic, aware of the incoming cars and motors). That stupid moment of this task, I brought my DSLR with me..... it was dead 6 A.M. ride in the morning when my mom told me,
"Let's turn over to this road. I remember there were graffitis here..."
and I jolted from my ..... precious..... meaningful...... and deep slumber. I unconsciously took out my cellphone and started taking pics in my zombi mode and then when I came back to the car.... I looked at my DSLR.... and I feel so... stupid--- literally scolding myself.
"I should have used that instead of this!"

Too late, my mom drove away from the road.... leaving the graffitis. I sat dumbfoundedly..... regretting why I couldn't get a faster OS for my brain (I was looking forward to this task!)
Oh well, My cellphone itself is enough for documentation I think.... Altho I still prefer DSLR...... oh whatever

Now, I'll present to you, the little adventure of the pink piggy on the Gayungsari street!

Apparently, the street I went was a one stop shot place. I just need to walk forth and I will found em all. But because of that... Some of the graffitis are alike and they all look old and they all overlaps .... and not forgetting the bushes were on my way! Compared to the ones ..... 2 kms from my house, these are nothing. But since I cannot (YET) drive on my own, I couldn't do much to take the other graffiti near my house.

Graffiti is an interesting style of art. It's free, lively, and inspiring. I, myself, haven't tried to make one (because I believe my head is not meant for these stuffs-- It takes me hours to make a decent one). I envy those people who make these. Even if my art workshop teacher told me if I can do better than they are, but I still feel something missing if I make graffiti. It's like I don't get the taste of the 'street' and 'pain' of it (usually graffitis are related to rebels rite?). I saw ones in ...... what? the....... wait.... wall of..... it divides Yerusalem... and what? It's near Bethlehem (forgive my.... oblivious... brain), thing is.... every graffiti has their own style, but universally they're all the same. I think I took some pic from ones of the divider wall near yerusalem or so, but I don't know where I put them.

I heard these people who make graffiti, they make it in the mornings... like 2 AM, or so, when the polices weren't around, and just like in movies, they'd run at once if found redhanded! haha! gladly in Indonesia these graffitis were considered dust in the wind. Not much people pay attention to them (oh irony irony) so they don't get cleaned off properly.

Talking bout their existence, there's this hotel, "arthotel" at Dr. Soetomo street. It's a conceptual hotel based on contemporary art. The stairs were painted with graffiti! and.... there are lots of elements of the hotel which contain street graffiti. It's a cool hotel. There are some pieces showed in the lobby. I haven't been there (not inside) but I have passed in front of it times. they quote, "earth without art is just 'eh'." and it's true!

AAAANND~~ I'll give bonus pic since I don't wanna waste my effort on taking pics.
here~

errr I think the colour... changed abit ..... argh.... my effort on editing....

now I shall bid my good bye, and see you next week!
