Restaurant Names

Yosh~! This is typhography class' third week assignment. Today's theme is.... "restaurant"!

Surabaya has lots lots lots looooooooots of restaurants. food, buddy, food everywhere. 15 wasn't a big deal this time ::p enjoy!

1. Shanghai- selling shaved ice with various combinations

2. Zangrandi- SUPER DUPER VINATGE AND TASTY!

3. GOSSIP- something like Shanghai but less choice

4. KFC- everyone knows it

5. Ayam Penyet PENELEH- This one is the branch restaurant. the original one is in Peneleh RD

6. ADAM- famous for the porkies

7. Ayam Penyet RIA

8. GALANG8-

9. FUK HAY- Name's like a chinese cursing in English 0__0

10. Mie Tunjungan- this one is quiet famous i think

11. Nasi Uduk MAYJEN SUNGKONO



12. Bu Rudy- this one is also old and tasty. I like the fried ebi here

13. Orchid Hongkong Dim Sum



14. Lontong Mie NY. MARLIA

15. NIURAMAYANA

 

 

 

That's all! from all above, I still like Zangrandi the best. Lucky Raffles is just a few minutes walk from Zangrandi! I still haven't got the chance to go tho. rainy seasons would be best since the sun won't strike so hardly.

Newspaper Scans

Hiiii~

It's my second week assignment.... TITLE NEWPAPER! NEWSPAPER!

In Surabaya, there ARE lots of newspaper to begin... but then you have to go round and round and round and ROUND which is not very amusing since the traffic here is always SOMETHING. The big two are KOMPAS newspaper and Jawa Pos. There's also some minor but common ones like SURYA and MEMO (the content is always vulgar;; gross). There used to be SINDO but then it sank deep to oblivion.

In this task, we are supposed (ORDERED....) to post 15 images of newspaper titles. Honestly, 15 is not a big number... but for newspaper... I think it's BIG. Not everyone has peculiat stuff, including me. I barely have newspaper here. But I have lots of tabloids. Then I googled what tabloid is. then it's said that Tabloid is a gossip only newspaper. So.... Tabloid=newspaper....

I tried to get the newspaper as best as I can. So... here goes nothing of 15 images of the second week assignment... :))

Colour psychology Scraps

For our colour psychology class, we're assigned to make 11 scarps of colour, those are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, pink, brown, white, and black

the process was quiet a journey for me, since a single scrap could take me a full one hour but it worth my satisfaction... well I'm not quiet satisfied with some scraps I made tho. 

here are the scans of my scraps :) the black one quiet tricky. i just loooove pop ups or whatever you call it la.

 i cut justin bieber's head and replaced it with nicole schineder's head!

this is what happened after I finished the scrappies...

this is not even half of the paper waste.

Honestly, it's kinda my first time making scrappies from magazine and it turned out I enjoy this (more than drawing up-side-down which i found really... peculiar)

I didn't get a ten from this, but I learnt my lesson la. exteriors and details ... MATTER.

actually I wanted to add stuffs to my keeper's cover but I barely had time. I slept 3 in the morning ofcourse  was dead tired (but again, everyone knows "tired" is not an excuse).

Quiet an experience indeed. Oh yeah, if you pay attention to the scaps, each of the cuts are.... mostly related... that's why it took me an hour. I didn't just flip and cut u know... that's not art (bah!)

Kay then, see you on my next assignment.... NEWSPAPER SCANS! Ha! I just bought extra two today!
